UAE resolution allows GCC nationals to enter broader range of professions

GCC citizens will now be able to practice a broader range of economic activities as well as work at local jobs thanks to a new resolution issued by the UAE cabinet.

 

The resolution states that GCC citizens are allowed to practice many types of economic activities except those related to Haj and Umrah, or any businesses related to printing presses, publishing houses, newspapers and magazines, according to <i>Gulf News</i>.

 

In addition, citizens are restricted from working in professions related to labor supply, insurance, trade agencies or clearance at government departments, property. They are also prohibited from dealing in land and buildings leasing and property management, as well as providing housing for people with special needs and running disabled rehabilitation centers and old age homes.
