Recently published statistics by the Emirates Central Bank show that the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s non-oil exports, including re-exports, to the rest of the Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council (AGCC) member countries decreased to 3.5 billion Emirati Dirhams ($952 million) in 1999, down from Dh 3.9 billion in 1998, reported Al-Bayan . These figures translate into a Dh 461 million drop, which is equivalent to 11.6 percent.
