The United Arab Emirates (UAE) Minister of State for Finance and Industry Mohamed Khalfan Bin Kharbash attended in his capacity as Advisor his first meeting of the International Advisory Committee of the recently established Ash Institute for Democratic Governance and Innovation of Harvard University.
Kharbash was appointed to the Committee earlier this year in recognition of his role in promoting innovative governance and is the first person from the Arab world to hold this position.
The meeting of the Committee was held in Boston, United States and was convened to unite all global members. The Committee serves to guide the Institute by bringing Advisors from around the world with expertise and experience related to governance.
The Advisory Committee unites all the members and serves to ensure that the Institute is constantly updated on the changing global environment and the factors that impact governance around the world.
The Ash Institute will hold its next meeting in October 2004 in the UAE, which will be followed by an international Global Workshop on Public Sector Innovation and Implementation of Best Practice.
The core mission of the Institute is to generate and help disseminate important new ideas of innovations in government, to assist in the replication of these cutting edge practices of demonstrable effectiveness and to create an international community of practitioners in government innovation. — (menareport.com)
