UAE: Energizer - Leader In alkaline batteries with 67% market share

Energizer Middle East & Africa, an affiliate of Energizer Holdings Inc, NYSE: ENR one of the world's largest manufacturers of consumer batteries and flashlights, has shown a strong 27 per cent increase in total sales of alkaline batteries over the last three years.

 

Latest findings for July /August 2006, by ACNielsen show Energizer Alkaline batteries capturing 67.7 per cent market share in the UAE way ahead of its competitors Duracell (27.3 per cent) and Varta. Sales in Dubai and Sharjah regions account for 69.7 per cent of total sales.

 

Abbas Ali Shah, Marketing Manager of Energizer ME&A said: “Identified as a leader in product innovation for alkaline batteries, Energizer appeals to the young market. Our positive sales over the past few years show a strong and consistent demand for durable batteries.”

 

Energizer recently launched the ‘Energizer Max Hummer Consumer Promotion’ in the UAE, giving customers the chance to win a brand new Hummer H3 when they buy an Energizer Max battery promotion pack.


“We want to position Energizer as a market leader in alkaline batteries through this promotion,” explained Shah. Our latest campaign rewards customers for their support.

 

The Energizer e2 battery uses lithium technology and advanced cell construction to maximise battery power. It is the world’s longest lasting battery, even when used in high-drain devices such as digital cameras.

The Energizer Max Hummer campaign runs until end of November, 2006. The special promotion packs are available at all hypermarkets, supermarkets, select groceries and EPPCO / ENOC outlets.
