The UAE-based Printers Association has given its official support to PrinTech/PubliTech International, the Middle East’s premier trade show for the printing and publishing sectors, taking place in Dubai next January, stated a press release.

The agreement was signed by Printers Association President, Ahmed Bin Hassan Al-Shaikh and Steven Jones, Regional Director, Fairs and Exhibitions (F&E), organizers of the event.

A non-profit organization, the Printers Association was launched at Dubai Media City in July 2001. Dedicated to raising the standards of the printing and publishing industries in the UAE, the association currently has over 30 members from across the Northern Emirates.

“The association has quickly established itself as a credible industry voice. Already membership accounts for close on 60 percent of the UAE’s printing industry’s output,” said Al-Shaikh.

PrinTech/PubliTech, which will take place at the Dubai International Exhibition Center from January 12-15, 2003, is an expansion of the highly successful PrinTech series, which in 2000 generated in excess of three million dollars worth of on-site orders with exhibitors reporting follow-through orders topping $12 million.

Recent developments across the region have seen the creation of the Dubai Media City, the free zone for media companies, the introduction of new laws in Saudi Arabia and Bahrain directly benefiting the printing/publishing industries, and an increasing knock-on demand from the packaging industry as a result of the 15-30 per cent growth the industry is experiencing. — (menareport.com)
