UAE and Japan trade hits peak level

Official statistics issued by Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a Japanese government-related organization that promotes mutually beneficial trade and investment relations, show that the volume of bilateral trade between the UAE and Japan hit a new peak level of $30.2 billion (Dh 111 billion) in 2005. This figure translates into a 31% rise compared with 2004, in which the bilateral trade value hit Dh 85 billion ($22.9 billion). 


According to the figures, the value of the UAE's heavy equipment and machinery import from Japan hit Dh 13.3 billion ($3.6 billion) in 2005. This import value represented 75% of Japan's total exports to the UAE in the same year.
