Dubai-based luxury crystal goods production company Crystal Arc has launched the United Arab Emirates (UAE)’s first on-line finished crystal brochure, to facilitate orders from its growing local and international customer base. Crystal Arc reported record demand for finished crystal products in the first quarter of 2003.
On the whole, e-commerce in the Arab World has exceeded $400 million in on-line sales according to figures published in 2001, which tracked both B2B and B2C sectors. “Our crystal sales have grown by 70 percent to date this year, which reflects the huge demand for finished crystal goods and trophies in this region. Globally, trade in cut Crystal is valued at over two billion dollars a year, and the Middle East is one of the fastest growing crystal markets in the world,” said Crystal Arc Director Mustansir Saifuddin.
Over the years, in addition to supplying Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)-based corporations, Crystal Arc has been commissioned to manufacture many prestigious trophies including one given to former US President Bill Clinton as well as the Middle East Information Technology (IT) Award presented to former US Vice-President Al Gore.
UAE trophies created by Crystal Arc include trophies for the Government of Dubai, the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Distinguished Academics, the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Awards, the Endurance World Cup Trophy, the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championship Awards, and the Sharjah Cricket Cup Trophies.
Crystal Arc was established in March 2001 and is a locally grown business with six distribution networks throughout the GCC: one in Oman; one in Qatar; one in Bahrain; three in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A staff of 52 crystal master craftsmen is employed at the factory, which is based in Al-Quoz.
Crystal Arc is commissioned by companies around the world to produce trophies from the finest optical German crystal. — (menareport.com)
