Turkish pottery manufacturer Avanos Anadolu Comlekcilik recently confirmed that it has signed an export deal with an American firm in Texas, marking its entrance into US and British markets, reported Anatolia.

According to the company’s Managing Director Muhammet Parmaksiz, Avanos Anadolu Comlekcilik produces more than 200 types of pottery articles, which have so far been exported to Germany, Holland, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Italy and Israel.

Turkey has a long history of producing decorative and functional pottery. The Avanos region is known for being the country’s highest producer of the handicraft. Set on the banks of the Red River, which gets its name from the clay that it deposits, Avanos is still dominated by this industry despite the inroads that tourism has made in the area. — (menareport.com)
