Turkey’s automotive exports increased by 32 percent in July, reaching a total value of $4.1 million. The sector’s exports increased by 11 percent in the first seven months of 2002, reaching $2.5 billion compared to $2.2 billion during the same period last year, reported Milliyet.
Turkey’s automotive industry is the third largest manufacturing industry in the country. At present there are 20 private and large-scale enterprises operating in the Turkish vehicle industry under foreign licenses, including Fiat, Toyota, Ford, Renault, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, BMC and MAN.
