Turkey-Iran trade up 22 percent

Trade activity between Iran and Turkey reached $912.7 million in the first nine months of 2001, compared to $748.7 million during the same period of the previous year, recorded the Turkish State Statistics Organization. This implicates a 22 percent annual rise.  

 

During the first nine months of the current year, Turkish exports to Iran jumped 50 percent, reaching $274.2 million, compared to $181.8 million in 2000. Turkish imports from the Islamic Republic of Iran, mainly crude oil, amounted to $638.5 million between January and September 2001, up 12.6 percent from $566.8 million during the same period last year. — (menareport.com)
