ALBAWABA - Turkey is aggressively developing 6G technology under the direction of Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Arslan, who is in charge of getting Turkey ready for the next wireless communication standard, according to AA.

Arslan said that since their efforts started two to three years ago, some 100 patents have been produced. Their ultimate goal is to establish Turkey as a major participant on the international scene going forward.

Presenting at the "32nd Signal Processing and Communication Applications Congress" organized by Tarsus University, Arslan—the only Turkish delegate among the 169 academic inventors chosen by the U.S. National Academy of Inventors (NAI) for 2022—emphasized the significance of Turkey's participation in 6G technology.

Arslan, who holds the position of Dean of Istanbul Medipol University's Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, said that Turkey has not developed enough 5G technology in contrast to other countries. He did, however, draw attention to current partnerships for 5G product development with regional producers of network equipment.

All of the present 5G initiatives, according to Arslan, are preparations for the eventual switch to 6G technology. In order to satisfy the changing needs of the digital era, he underlined the need of modifying and advancing the current technical underpinnings.

Arslan predicts that 6G technology will transform many facets of life in the future by combining radar technologies and creating flexible networks that span both the terrestrial and space domains.

Arslan also emphasized the need for Turkey to become more aware of 6G technology, pointing out that the race for 6G innovation has already started on a global scale. In order to advance this subject, he emphasized the significance of cooperation between academic institutions, businesses, and research centers.

Arslan emphasized the creation of strategic alliances and an ecosystem with the goal of promoting innovation and aiding R&D activities in Turkey's readiness for 6G technology. He underlined the importance of patent generation as a gauge of technical progress, noting that Turkey already has close to 100 6G-related patents.

All things considered, Turkey's proactive approach to 6G technology highlights its dedication to technical growth and its goals of becoming a major force in the world of technology.
