The Izmir-based Aegean Exporters’ Union (AEU) is tripling the size of its national pavilion to over 1,000 square meters for the spring edition of Motexha, the Middle East’s trade show for the fashion industry being held this April at the Dubai International Exhibition Center. The move makes the AEU the show’s biggest exhibitor to date, stated a company release.

“The Turkish pavilion will exhibit products ranging from leather shoe wear to handbags and accessories to men’s and ladies’ apparel to fabrics,” stated acting secretary general of AEU, Sezmen Alper. In 2001, Turkish leather and apparel exports to the Middle East were in the region of $6.25 million.

“The AEU mission is to work towards increasing Turkey’s export revenues, expanding the variety of its export offerings and to find new markets,” said Alper. Working under the supervision of the Turkish Prime Ministry’s undersecretariat of Foreign Trade, the AEU undertakes tasks such as driving Turkish exporting activities, assisting exporters, solving trade problems as well as acting as a bridge between state and private entrepreneurs. — (menareport.com)
