US-based Totoal Resource Management (TRM) has been awarded a $1.9 million small business contract to configure, deploy and integrate the technology system that will drive the multisite, multilingual enterprise for the infrastructure reconstruction effort in Iraq.

Using this system, TRM will help the US-led Coalition Provisional Authority (CPA) Program Management Office (PMO) manage all the resources allocated to rebuild schools, hospitals, utilities, natural resources, government offices and all infrastructure elements in Iraq. It will integrate with the financial and procurement systems that the US government uses to support the rebuilding effort.

TRM is responsible for making sure the systems are engineered in a way that makes it easy for Iraqis to successfully continue the work started by the US and its allies. A primary objective of the Rebuilding Iraq PMO is to leverage the Internet to maintain project detail work and material management activity remotely -- from any location.

The systems TRM deploys are expected to arrive in Baghdad early next month and will immediately start supporting the processing of more than 5,000 projects determined critical to the rebuilding effort. All contractors and suppliers, including all materials and services, will be processed and tracked through these systems. — (menareport.com)
