A recent decision by the UAE Ministry of Interior has eased travel restrictions for certain Omani and Emirati residents moving between the two countries, reported the Gulf News. Restrictions on passenger busses and freight vehicles were eased as well.
The new regulations exempt any immediate relatives and expatriate servants of both countries from paying exit and entry fees, so long as a national sponsor with proper documentation accompanies them.
According to Ministry representatives, the new measures reflect the intentions of both parties to improve bilateral relations, beginning with the ease of border crossing for those who most need it.
Furthermore, special road permits will be issued to those wishing to cross the border, the Ministry added. ― (MENA Report)
