The Emirati city of Al-Ghurair is organizing a free medical consulting center to fight the Thalassemia disease, reported Al-Bayan. The center was erected during the Holy Month of Fasting (Ramadan) in cooperation with the Emirates Thalassemia Association.

It is run by specialized doctors from the Prime Medical Center of Deirah, providing various consulting services regarding Thalassemia and other diseases such as diabetes. Services are offered to visitors as well as natives of Al-Ghurair. Official statistics show that one of every 20 residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is suffering from Thalassemia. — (menareport.com)
