Telenetics has received two significant orders for its Racon(TM) Series of microwave video radios totaling approximately $500,000. The larger of the two orders was received for the fabled city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. The radios will be used to expand the security system, which is used to monitor the city for safety and security each year during the city's annual religious pilgrimage.

During the holy week it is estimated that more than three million people visit Mecca for religious celebrations and services. Telenetics' microwave video radios form the backbone of the wireless network, which is used to transport hundreds of camera images to a central control center where the city's police force monitors the city for traffic, safety concerns and security threats. The Telenetics "Racon(TM) Series radios have earned high praise for their time-tested ability to perform reliably year-after-year in the harsh desert climate.

The second major award was the company's first procurement on behalf of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) for their asset protection program. The award follows more than a year of thorough testing and evaluation of the Telenetics' microwave video radios by the IDF in harsh radio frequency and climatic environments.

In addition to these new installations in Saudi Arabia and Israel, these same Telenetics' microwave video radios have been in continuous use in New York for the past six years, where multiple radios and cameras are mounted high atop both the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center. These systems provide "broadcast quality" traffic and weather video needed by the local TV broadcasters in the New York area to serve their viewers.

Telenetics designs, manufactures and distributes wired and wireless data communications products for customers worldwide. Telenetics offers a range of industrial grade modems and wireless products, systems and services for connecting its customers to end-point devices such as meters, remote terminal units, traffic and industrial controllers and remote sensors. — (menareport.com)
