The US-based Teledex Corporation, a provider of telephones for the hospitality industry which holds a 90 percent market share in the Middle East, announced that it has filed a patent infringement action in the US against TeleMatrix, of Colorado, an affiliate of La Quinta Corporation, for infringement of the patent awarded to Teledex on June 26, 2001.

The patent applies to electronic line selection circuitry for hospitality telephones that was developed in Teledex research labs and is present in nearly all currently shipping models of Teledex guestroom telephones.

Teledex is seeking protection for its patent from the courts, including an injunction prohibiting TeleMatrix, as well as all those acting in concert with it, from further infringement of the patent, as well as damages associated with the violation. “We are seeking protection for our intellectual property,” comments Ron Lesniak, president and CEO of Teledex.

Teledex develops telecommunications technologies for the hospitality industry, including such features as easy-access data ports, multiple PBX compatibility, and programmable guest service keys. The company offers a lifetime warranty on its guestroom telephones. — (menareport.com)
