The Arabian Maghreb telecommunication market is seeing fierce competition amongst five European and one Arab telecom firms, according to senior market sources in the region.
Major telecom firms are taking part in the race to win a piece of this lucrative market, currently anticipating the launch privatization schemes in the Algerian, Tunisian and Moroccan cellular markets.
The companies mentioned in this regard were the Spanish giant Telefonica, France Telecom, Portugal Telecom, Italy telecom and the Egyptian Orascom Telecom.
The mobile phone market is a fast growing and highly attractive industry in the North African region.
