Kuwait’s Mobile Telecommunications Company (MTC) has awarded a contract, worth over €700,000 ($658,000) to Tecnomen for the replacement of old transmitters with Tecnomen's own HiQ transmitter product. Delivery will take place in the second quarter of 2002 and installation will start immediately after that.
Tecnomen has a strong market position in Kuwait both in paging and messaging. Tecnomen has supplied two nationwide paging systems there. MTC is the first and largest of two cellular and paging providers in Kuwait. Tecnomen supplied MTC paging and messaging systems in 1996.
Tecnomen develops value-added service systems for teleoperators and service providers. The company supplies messaging systems and wireless Internet solutions. The company operates in 13 locations worldwide and has supplied its products to customers in 40 countries.
MTC was established in June 1983 with the mission of providing mobile telephone and paging services in Kuwait on a commercial basis. Starting with a subscriber capacity of only 30,000, MTC now serves over 600,000 customers in Kuwait. — (menareport.com)
