Finnish-based Tecnomen signed a cooperation agreement with Egypt’s network solutions company ProNet. The European telecommunications provider will use ProNet’s sales and marketing network as a means to enter African markets, stated a company press release.
With the gradual liberalization of the Egyptian telecommunications industry, the country’s mobile phone markets expanded by 168 percent in 2000, ending the period with more than 2.3 billion subscribers. Tecnomen stated it sees much potential in this growing market and hopes to provide services to the two main telecom providers in the country.
Tecnoman was established in the early eighties as a provider of telecommunications solutions to international teleoperators and service providers.
