Taj Hotels not ruling out new property in Qatar

India's Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces has expressed an interest in building a property in Qatar. The company, which is a part of the multi-billion dollar Tata group has already established relationships with Qatar in the form of being a partner of Qatar Airways' Frequent Flyer program.

 

According to the Peninsula, Tata Group Chairman Ratan Tata was in Doha Wednesday on a brief stopover from Rome en route to Mumbai. On his part, Tata Group director R K Krishna Kumar said that any property Taj Hotels sets up would be in partnership, possibly with Qatar National Hotels Company (QNHC).

 

Taj Hotels is the largest hotel chain in India with 50 properties in 37 countries. In the Middle East, it has operations in Yemen, Dubai and Oman.
