Syrian government to uprgrade Deir-El-Zour Airport

The Director General of the Syrian Civil Aviation Corporation, Hussein Mahfouzh, announced that the corporation recently purchased three radar systems valued at $50 million, reported ksaToday . These radar systems are presently being installed in the Airports of Damascus, Aleppo and Latakia. Mahfouzh added that the corporation is in the process of investing $25 million into converting the Deir El-Zour Airport in eastern Syria into an international airport. The airport is expected to double in its passenger capacity from 2.5 million to five million in the near future. — (menareport.com)
