Egypt's ambassador to Syria, Muhamad Ahmad Ismail, asserted recently that positive trade relations existed between Egypt and Syria, adding that the nations’ agricultural sectors were faring particularly well in this sense.

Ismail added that agricultural collaboration is expected to raise productivity and crop quality for both countries. Bilateral cooperation, Ismail stated, was steadily improving due to warm relations between Egytpian President Husni Mubarak and his Syrian counterpart, President Bashar Al-Assad, reported the Egyptian Information Service.
