ALBAWABA - Becoming the first in the world, Swiss Supermarket giant Spar unveiled a new payment method using the OpenCryptoPay system.
Spar announced that it has introduced Bitcoin and cryptocurrency payments across all its branches, according to The Crypto Basic website. This makes Spar the first company to offer a countrywide crypto payment system in Switzerland.
DFX Swiss reported via X that Spar, which is supporting 1.4 million customers, "is officially rolling out Crypto Payments in their brand-new Swiss app".
It wrote, "We’re very happy that SPAR has integrated our OpenCryptoPay solution into their app, bringing crypto payments to everyone."

How to pay using cryptocurrencies in Spar?
According to DFX Swiss, getting started and opening an account is as easy as and can be done in a few basic steps:
- Open the SPAR App
- Add a new card
- Select SPAR Crypto Card
After that, it confirmed that you will be ready to use crypto payments.
