The national airline of Switzerland, SWISS, has announced the launch of a new Gulf-wide service for members of the Qualiflyer frequent flyer program, allowing an unlimited number of accrued miles to be transferred to a family member free of charge.
The program, which is unique to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), is available to Qualiflyer members with a minimum of 10,000 accrued air miles. For the first time, all accrued miles can be transferred to immediate family members living at the same household address including parents, siblings and children. This can be done through their individual Qualiflyer membership and may be used on SWISS flights to a choice of 126 destinations in 59 countries.
“With approximately 25,000 Qualiflyer members in the GCC, this new service is a very quick and simple way to reward family members with free international air travel,” said Felix Rodel, Gulf Area manager for SWISS. Qualiflyer has a total of over 3.5 million members worldwide and offers free enrollment for any passenger flying Swiss International Air Lines or one of it's associated partner airlines. The Qualiflyer Group is comprised of 11 European airlines that share the same frequent-flyer program.
SWISS currently operates a total of 30 weekly flights from the Middle East, including daily flights from Dubai, six weekly flights from Cairo, four weekly flights from Karachi, three weekly flights from Riyadh, Muscat, Abu Dhabi, and two weekly flights from Jeddah and Tehran. — (menareport.com)
