Some 4.5 million tourists are expected to flow to the city of Dubai this summer; many will arrive to take part in the Emirate’s Summer’s Wonders festival. According to KsaToday daily, the figure is based on airline requests to increase the number of flights to Dubai.
Airlines anticipate higher activity levels following a significant rise in flight demands last year, as nearly 3.5 million tourists visited Dubai.
Dubai’s summer festivals have been an important factor in attracting visitors to the Emirate. Prepared to receive this year’s expected influx are Dubai’s 36,000 hotel rooms and its international. The airport, which has an annual capacity of 22-million passengers, expects a total of 14 million arrivals this year.
At this time the annual Summer Surprises Festival is already underway. The event, which is organized by the government specifically with the aim of luring tourists, will last for a two-months period.
Special discounts and a host of entertainment activities are offered in the city's 20-odd shopping malls. In addition, daily lottery draws award winners with substantial prizes ranging from real gold nuggets to a Rolls Royce car. ― (MENA Report)
