ALBAWABA - In a significant stride for the Turkish defense industry, the first phase factory acceptance tests of the autonomous sea vehicle, SANCAR SİDA, have concluded successfully.
Developed with native capabilities, this unmanned vessel is poised to bolster the capabilities of the Turkish security forces. The trials, marked by the presence of officials from the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) and the Naval Forces Command, showcase the potential of this innovative maritime technology.
Designed for diverse roles such as base protection, search and rescue, intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, surveillance, patrol, surface warfare, and mine countermeasure operations, SİDA stands out with its 'Mission Brain' ADVENT ROTA. The successful completion of the Phase-1 factory acceptance tests signifies a major step forward in validating the capabilities of this unmanned sea vehicle.
SİDA, the first platform to host the ADVENT Combat Management System (SYS), a proven system in various naval platforms, aligns with NATO Interoperability Standards. This integration ensures seamless collaboration with other naval platforms equipped with ADVENT SYS.
Leveraging artificial intelligence, learning algorithms, big data, data fusion, and autonomous systems technologies, SANCAR has crafted SİDA with impressive specifications. With dimensions of 12.73 meters in length, 3.3 meters in width, and a weight of 9 tons, SİDA boasts speeds exceeding 40 knots and a cruising range of over 740 kilometers.
SANCAR SİDA, remotely controlled, exhibits the capability to autonomously perform a range of tasks, including port/base protection, search and rescue, intelligence gathering, reconnaissance, surveillance, patrol, surface warfare, and mine countermeasure operations.
The successful completion of the SİDA Project marks a significant achievement in the development of unmanned surface platforms. The system's sub-components, such as command and control integration software, mission planning, post-mission evaluation, and analysis software, have the potential to be standalone products. With products like ADVENT ROTA and ADVENT KALYON, HAVELSAN aims to provide versatile solutions applicable across various defense scenarios, avoiding predictability and setting new standards in unmanned sea vehicle technology.
