SriLankan Airlines has announced the temporary suspension of flights to Qatar in light of the current COVID-19 crisis.
The decision follows recent preventive measures taken by the Government of Qatar due to the spread of coronavirus worldwide.
Qatar has suspended travel to and from China, Bangladesh, India, Italy, Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Syria, South Korea, and Thailand. The suspension extends to all individuals intending to enter from these countries including those who seek visas upon arrival, those with a residence or work permit, and temporary visitors.
The state of Qatar has also urged its citizens to avoid all but essential travel at this time.
This precautionary measure will be reviewed and updated as per International guidelines in curtailing the spread of Coronavirus, the airline said.
