Increasing health and fitness awareness throughout the Middle East is driving regional demand for sportswear, according to a leading Turkish sector player. “Regional government campaigns promoting healthier lifestyles are spurring this lifestyle phenomenon and, as a result, demand for sportswear and accessories is taking off,” said E.R. Abdulla, export manager of Turkish sportswear manufacturer Naktafl.
Naktafl supplies its Tolerance branded sportswear to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Europe. Naktafl is making its Middle East exhibition debut at Motexha Spring when it will be part of the largest Turkish pavilion to be staged at the show. Around 50 members of the Turkish Aegean Exporters Union will be housed in the pavilion.
Sports and bridal wear have been given extra priority at Motexha Spring, the Middle East trade show for the fashion industry, to be held in April at the Dubai International Exhibition Center (DIEC) from April 15-18. The show will feature country pavilions from Cyprus, Germany, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Turkey and the UK. Motexha is held twice yearly in Dubai with Spring and Autumn editions.
“IIR Exhibitions, which organizes Motexha, has quickly recognized this trend and the addition of a particular sportswear focus sealed our decision to exhibit,” said Abdulla. “We are looking this year to increase our turnover to two million dollars and then target annual increases of between 10 and 20 percent,” he added. — (menareport.com)
