Demand for space at the Gulf Traffic Expo in Dubai next December is surging with organizers revealing 80 percent of space for the event has already been booked. Nineteen countries have contracted for Gulf Traffic to date with South Africa, Taiwan, Spain and Australia involved for the first time.
Indeed, demand for space at Gulf Traffic has necessitated a move from a hotel venue to the much larger Dubai International Exhibition Center. Exhibition Manager of IIR Exhibitions Davyd Farrel believes international interest in Gulf Traffic has been heightened by the current heavy investment in traffic infrastructure projects throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
In the United Arab Emirates (UAE) alone, sweeping plans have been gazetted to reduce traffic jams and improve safety on the roads. A series of projects have been unveiled to build and upgrade Dubai's roads. Sharjah is about to start work on a massive three-phase ring road project and in Abu Dhabi it has been announced that new technology is being introduced to monitor traffic flow, spot accidents, and check traffic lights in the city and suburbs.
Gulf Traffic 2003 will stick to the highly successful formula of combining an exhibition and a c conference and will be held from December 8-11. — (menareport.com)
