The Sharjah Cement Company recorded a net profit of 56 million Emirati dirhams ($15 million) for 2003 compared to Dh 13 million in 2002, reported KSE. The company will distribute a cash dividend of five percent and a bonus share of six percent.
The Sharjah Cement Company was established in 1979. Its production plant was established mainly with a view to cater for local demand. In 1983, with the installation of a new cement mill and packing plant by UBE Industries, Japan, the total grinding capacity of the factory was increased from 220,000 million metric tons to one million tons per annum. — (menareport.com)
