Seven of leading Saudi banks have concluded deals with Amex to accept American Express Cards electronically at their point of sale terminals installed in shops, supermarkets, retail outlets, restaurants, hotels and other service establishments throughout the Kingdom.

The banks are Saudi Investment Bank, National Commercial Bank, Saudi Hollandi Bank, Riyad Bank, Saudi British Bank, Arab National Bank and Banque Saudi Fransi.

"The conclusion of the deals with the Kingdom's leading banks is a strategic move for American Express as it will significantly increase the number of point of sale terminals that accept American Express," said Chief Executive Officer of Amex (Saudi Arabia), Mazin Khoury.

Amex Saudi Arabia was established in 1999 as a joint venture company with its head office in Riyadh. It is equally owned by Amex (Middle East) and the Saudi Investment Bank and operates the American Express Card and Merchant business in Saudi Arabia. — (menareport.com)
