The region's first smartphone made its debut at GITEX 2002. The phone is manufactured by the United Kingdom’s Sendo Company, the newest entrant on the Middle East mobile phone market.
Sendo's latest addition, the Z100 Multimedia Smartphone, makes its debut at the top of the Sendo range. At around 100 grams and 99 cc, it is one of the smallest and lightest GPRS tri-band smartphones. Tri-band operations allows it to be used on networks across Europe, Asia and the Americas while the phone's GPRS capability means that users will benefit from some of the fastest wireless data speeds available.
The Sendo Middle East office is based at the Dubai Airport Free Zone. Sendo's manufacturing strategy and processes allow the company to ship products to customers within 48 to 72 hours from its configuration center in the Netherlands. The extensive product range includes the S200 series, which is aimed at the mid-tier and low-tier parts of the market. — (menareport.com)
