NEC Computers International, Europe's sixth largest Personal Computer (PC) manufacturer, appointed Saudisoft Co Ltd as an authorized Saudi Arabia reseller for the Kingdom's enterprise market. The appointment follows similar moves in Bahrain and Qatar for NEC CI, which supplies the corporate market with the NEC brand and the consumer market with the Packard Bell brand.
"Saudi Arabia's Information Technology (IT) market will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 16 percent over the next five years and we want a considerable slice of that," said
Lenia Iacovides, InterFRONTIERS managing director, NEC CI's regional development unit.
Cyprus-headquartered InterFRONTIERS oversees the development of NEC CI's reseller operations, marketing and events in Saudi Arabia, across the Middle East, Africa, the Mediterranean and the Balkans. Its responsibilities include qualifying and recruiting new channel partners, channel network development and management as well as offering
sales, bids and tenders and local marketing support.
"Saudi Arabia is key to our regional expansion, as the Kingdom accounts for 60 percent of all regional spending in critical economic sectors," said Michael de Bievre, executive director of International Division at NEC CI. "Saudi IT sales represent over 40 percent of total Middle East sector spend and with Saudisoft we aim to win a lot of new business for the NEC brand."
