Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal, chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC), received separately the ambassador of the Republic of Gambia to Saudi Arabia Lamin Bajo and the Ambassador of the Republic of Gabon Joseph Mamboungou. Both meetings took place at Kingdom Center, the new headquarters of KHC.
The Gambian ambassador conveyed a verbal message from Gambia’s President ahead of Prince Al-Waleed's upcoming visit to the African republic. The ambassador confirmed that preparations for the visit are complete, and added that the government and people of Gambia are looking forward to this visit.
In June 2003, Ambassador Bajo extended an official invitation to the Prince to visit Gambia in a letter from the Gambian government. Prince Al-Waleed promised to visit and meet the country’s President and members of the government of Gambia.
Ambassador Bajo briefed the Prince on political and economic developments in Gambia, and discussed few sectors in need of foreign investors’ support. The Prince expressed interest in investing in the Republic of Gambia, but noted investment opportunities there must be studied and evaluated prior to making a commitment.
During Prince Al-Waleed’s meeting with the Ambassador of Gabon, the latter presented to the Prince a working document on humanitarian causes in the Republic of Gabon. This meeting preceded an expected visit by HRH to the Republic of Gabon in the near future. — (menareport.com)
