Saudi Prince Al-Waleed arrives in Damascus

Syrian President Bashar Assad met with Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud who arrived in the country on a short visit Monday March 1, 2004.  

 

Prince Al-Waleed arrived at Damascus International Airport where he was received by several Syrian officials and the Saudi Ambassador to Damascus Bakr Abdullah Bakr. The two held a meeting and a private luncheon during which they discussed the latest international political and economical developments and their affects on the region.  

 

Both the President and the Prince stressed the significance of establishing a mutual stand against the plight facing the Arab world, and increase cooperation through the Arab League. The upcoming Arab Summit in Tunisia was also discussed.  

 

Prince Al-Waleed is the main investor in the Four Seasons Damascus hotel project. The project is being developed on prime real estate in the heart of the capital.  

 

Strategically located, the 13,000 square-meter parcel will house numerous amenities. It will feature over 300 luxury rooms, suites and fully-serviced furnished apartments along with international cuisine restaurants, a fitness club and other amenities such as an adjacent upscale shopping mall. — (menareport.com)
