The director general of the Saudi HaIl Agriculture Development Company (Hadco), Ibrahim Mohammed Al-Fahd, expects the output of the company to grow remarkably during the next two years, reported Al-Watan newspaper.

The company predicts that the clover output will hit 20,000 tons in 2000 and 40,000 tons by the following year. A contract was recently signed between Hadco and Al-Marai Dairy Company, by which the latter will purchase 40,000 tons of clovers from Hadco annually.

Al-Fahd added that Hadco has begun to expand the palm-farming project through planting 6,480 palm trees over a 64-hectare area. As a result, by 2001, Hadco will have enlarged the number of planted palm trees in this area to 20,000. ¯ (Albawaba-MEBG)
