The Saudi-based American General Electric Company has announced that it is planning to construct three large Internet portals. These portals will include Saudi consortiums consisting of companies from the health, commerce and banking sectors.

The Sales Consultant of the company, Faisal Mossa, was quoted in Al-Watan, revealing that the objective of the three new portals is to prepare the Saudi companies to take part in e-commerce and to electronically exchange information between the local merchants and manufacturers.

The establishment costs per-portal range from $5-$40 million, depending on the number of participant companies in each consortium. The Saudi-based General Electric Company contributed to the establishment of the local electronic information exchange infrastructure nearly 18 years ago. - (Albawaba-MEBG)
