The Saudi Minister of Oil and Mineral Resources, Ali Bin Ibrahim Al-Nuaimy, revealed that new gas and oil reserves were recently discovered in the eastern region of the Kingdom, reported Al-Hayat . The minister added that the Saudi Aramco Company uncovered new gas quantities in Jafin Well 1 and new oil quantities in Wared Well 1. The company also uncovered new oil quantities in Takhman Well 2.
Aramco is responsible for 99 percent of the Kingdom’s proven crude oil reserves of 259.2 billion barrels, while daily production is estimated at approximately eight million barrels, according to company sources. In 2000, the company completed a series of projects, including the Shaybah oil field and the opening of a pipeline connecting Riyadh and Dhahran with an extension to the Qassim region. — (menareport.com)
