Saudi Arabian Airlines said it will resume flights to the United States on Thursday, October 2, following a three-week break since the terror attacks on New York and Washington.

"We have decided to resume flights to the United States after having enforced the increased security measures demanded by the US Federal Aviation Administration," said the carrier's chairman Khalid Bin Bakr, quoted by the official SPA news agency.

He said "security on Saudi flights will be guaranteed through close coordination between Saudi civil aviation authorities, security services and the administrations of Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam airports."
