Saudi Arabia's King Fahd and visiting Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez agreed here on Saturday October 20 on the "importance" of oil price stability, the official SPA news agency reported.

The two leaders "stressed the importance of the stability of oil prices in the interest of both producers and consumers" during a meeting after Chavez arrived in Riyadh for discussions on the crude market, SPA said. Saudi Arabia and Venezuela are both heavyweight members of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. — (AFP, Riyadh)
