Saudi Arabia slashes import tariffs by 50 percent

As of January 1, 2002, the Saudi Ministry of Treasury and Economy will execute the fifth phase of the Arab Free Trade Zone Project. Saudi Arabia dropped the rate of customs imposed on all imported goods of Arab origin into the Kingdom by 50 percent, reported Al-Hayat. The decrease is applicable to all imports, excluding tobacco, from Arab member countries of the executive program of the Arab Free Trade Zone Project. — (menareport.com)
