ALBAWABA – Saudi Arabia announced the launch of the new Riyadh Metro within the next few weeks. Saleh Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stated that the official opening of the metro station will occur soon.

The Riyadh Metro is a major project that has established an advanced infrastructure to serve the city’s residents and citizens.

Al-Jasser also mentioned that the metro is currently undergoing daily testing and described the project as: “exceptional and historic,” according to his recent interview with Al Arabiya.
As reported previously by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), the metro will carry 1.7 million passengers per day during the initial opening phase. The number is expected to grow to 3.6 million at full capacity over time.
