Saudi Arabia: Construction of training institutions

The governor of the Saudi Public Institution for Technical Education, Ali Naser al-Ghafidh, has signed contracts for rebuilding and construction of 153 technical collages and training institutions, 17 of them are technical collages for girls, with total costs of more than SR6 billion ($1.59 billion), reported the Saudi newspaper, Al-Watan on April 3, 2005.


Al- Ghafidh emphasized upon the projects' contractors the necessity to deliver the projects within the time-table. He clarified that 75% of the technical institutions and training centers buildings are inappropriate for training at present, mentioning that the above mentioned projects will be ready in a period between 3 and 5 years, and could absorb 200,000 students.
