Saudi Arabia builds first local television

The first Saudi made television will be available in the local market in mid February 2002. This national product is being funded by a Saudi-American-Malaysian joint investment valued at 100 million Saudi Riyals ($26.6 million), reported Al-Watan . The Chairman of the Board of the Saudi Television Factory Company, Ghazi Shalhoub, said that his company will promote and sell the first national television in Saudi Arabia. The company targets a sales volume of 50,000-100,000 units in its first year on the market, 100,000-200,000 units in its second year and 300,000 units in its third year. Shalhoub added that his company is also planning to export its new product to the rest of the region. — (menareport.com)
