Saudi Arabia’s total exports hit a record in 2004, according to the 2005 trade statistics of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The trade statistics, which were published in the last week of January, indicate that for the first time in the past 25 years, the total value of Saudi exports peasked its highest level of $106.9 billion in 2004. This was the first time for Saudi exports exceeded the $100 billion mark in a single year since 1980 when the value of the exports was $101.5 billion.
