The Flag International Telecommunication Group recently began operating an offshore cable line, linking Paris, London and New York through optic fibers, according to the London-based Al-Sharq Al-Awsat daily.
The Saudi Dallah Al-Barakeh Group controls 16 percent of this project, whose costs are estimated at $1.2 billion.
The 100,000-kilometer long FLAG (Fiber Optic Around Global) project will connect distant regions of the world through rapid and precise transferring of information via fiber technology. ― (MENA Report)
