Executives from the Saudi Agricultural Bank will meet with local date producers at the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry headquarters next Wednesday, reported Al-Hayat. Both sides will discuss the problems and difficulties encountered by the date industry in the Kingdom. They will also discuss ways of developing the Saudi date industry on an international level. In addition, they will review loans granted by the Agricultural Bank to date farmers. Major problems encountered by the date manufacturing sector are the lack of marketing, low prices due to growing production volume and stable demand, in addition to the lack of skilled labor. — (menareport.com)
