Samsung Electronics aims to achieve a 35 percent market share in the United Arab Emirates (UAE)'s laser printer market. Currently, the company enjoys an 18 percent market share in the UAE, a year after it made its foray into the laser printer market.

“UAE's laser printer market is expected to grow at the rate of 20 percent,” said President of Samsung Gulf Electronics, DK Byeon. “This growth rate is much higher than the cumulative average global industry growth rate of four to five percent.”

Laser printers account for around 25 percent of the country’s total printer demand that includes inkjet, multi-function as well as bubble-jet printers. With the advent of Sub $200 printers, multi-function laser printers and color laser printers, the overall demand for laser printers could well exceed 35 percent of the total printer demand by 2005. Various government initiatives are also seen to be propelling the demand for laser imaging solution.

Founded in 1969 in Korea, Samsung Electronics has 25 production bases worldwide and 59 sales subsidiaries in 46 countries. — (menareport.com)
