Sakhr Software Co., the pioneer of Arabic software industry, announced that its Arabic/English Dictionary is now available for Palm users. Sakhr's Palm Dictionary contains 27,000 words supported with other Palm features. The Dictionary excels in the notable search capabilities it supports.

The new Palm Dictionary is Sakhr's fully featured bilingual bi-directional dictionary but with features suiting Palm systems. It includes 27,000 entries without embedding the morphological parser that occupies a considerable amount in Palm memory.

In further updates, Palm Dictionary will include Sakhr's morphological parser and more entries when set on Palm VII and Visors, which contain larger memory.

"In developing the Dictionary, Sakhr relies on its wide spectrum of NLP technologies mainly focusing on Arabic computational semantics and lexicography." Said Jamil Ezzo, Sakhr's international marketing manager.

"Now," added he "the newly released Dictionary is just another step in our ongoing commitment to the Arabic user. Our strategy is to provide an Arabic standard for the Personal Digital Assistants (PDA)."

"Last year, Sakhr launched its Panel application that enabled Arabic users to fully Arabize their Palm devices and we came with the applications," Said Ezzo.

Then, further enhancements have been added to the system by releasing its Palm OS 2.0, which came with many enhanced features and Arabic applications, with a total support for the newly launched Palm OS 3.5.

All versions have been totally for free. Sakhr's Palm OS 2.0 excludes protection and thus can be easily copied on other Palms.

Sakhr Palm OS 2.0 supports Palm device models ranging from Palm III, Palm IIIx, to Palm V, Palm Vx, and Palm VII. Also, the system can be used in Visor hand held devices, which are less expensive machines using Palm OS.

akhr's Palm OS 2.0 can be freely downloaded from Sakhr's Arabized Palm OS web site at:
